Mission & Vision

Go therefore and make disciples...

The Mission

The mission of Hugoton Assembly of God is the same mission Jesus gave his followers:
To Know God - "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and all your mind," (Matt 22:37) and,
To Make Him Known - "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." (Matt 28:19)

The Vision

The vision of Hugoton Assembly of God is to:
Extend through Evangelism
Empower through Discipleship
Enrich through Relationship
Engage through Service

What We Believe

Bible

WE BELIEVE...The Scriptures are inspired by God and declare His design and plan for mankind.

One True God

WE BELIEVE...There is only One True God–revealed in three persons...Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (commonly known as the Trinity).

Jesus Christ

WE BELIEVE...In the Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ. As God's son, Jesus was both human and divine.

Fall of Mankind

WE BELIEVE...Though originally good, man willingly fell to sin–ushering evil and death, both physical and spiritual, into the world.

Salvation of Mankind

WE BELIEVE...every person can have restored fellowship with God through salvation (accepting Christ's offer of forgiveness for sin).

Holy Spirit

WE BELIEVE...all believers receive the indwelling of the Holy Spirit at salvation;
and subsequently, the baptism in the Holy Spirit is a special experience that empowers believers for witnessing and effective service.

Gifts of the Spirit

WE BELIEVE...all of the gifts of the Spirit as seen in scripture are in use today.
These spiritual gifts are distributed according to God's will and enable believers to experience God's supernatural power today.
The spiritual gifts equip the Body of Christ for ministry and we should seek them eagerly
while realizing not all believers will experience every spiritual gift.
Spiritual gifts should be used in a God-honoring and orderly way.

Sanctification

WE BELIEVE...sanctification initially occurs at Salvation and is not only a declaration that a believer is holy,
but also a progressive lifelong process of separating from evil as believers continually draw closer to God and become more Christlike.

The Church

WE BELIEVE...the Church has a mission to seek and save all who are lost in sin.
We believe the Church is the Body of Christ and consists of the people who, throughout time,
have accepted God's offer of redemption (regardless of religious denomination) through the sacrificial death of His son Jesus Christ.

Healing

*WE BELIEVE...divine healing of the sick is a privilege for Christians today and is provided for in Christ's atonement (His sacrificial death on the cross for our sins).

Return of Christ

*WE BELIEVE...in the Blessed Hope—when Jesus raptures His Church prior to His return to earth (the second coming).
At this future moment in time all believers who have died will rise from their graves and will meet the Lord in the air,
and Christians who are alive will be caught up with them, to be with the Lord forever.
